The Pedersen Way: Transforming local travel
Connecting communities
The Pedersen Way project is a visionary initiative aimed at transforming local travel by establishing a safe, accessible, and traffic-free route connecting Cam & Dursley Station with the surrounding communities of Cam, Dursley, Uley, Coaley, and Slimbridge.
Designed for walkers, cyclists and wheelchair users, the route will offer improved access to local schools and promote healthier, more active lifestyles for residents of all ages.
Planning for the future
The majority of funding for the Pedersen Way will come from local housing developers and grant support such as Community Infrastructure Levy and Section 106 Agreements. The project has received widespread backing from all local councils and is being delivered in close collaboration with Gloucestershire County Council Highways and Stroud District Council.
Wherever possible the works are being carried out in accordance with the latest guidance and standards issued by the UK Government and Active Travel England.
Parts of the route are already open and being used in Littlecombe and the North-East Cam Development off Box Road.
